Tales From the Zeeborhood Episode 2: Matthew Bianchini

Greetings from the Zeeborhood! Today I'd like to share the second episode of Tales from the Zeeborhood, my conversation with my friend Matthew Bianchini. I don't want to give too much away (listen to the episode) but my friendship with Matt began over a year ago and in a most unconventional way. When I express how important the friends I have made through music are to me, shining examples of said relationships would include Matt. We bonded through the Bunglesphere and here we are the night we met our collective hero, Trevor Dunn.

Not to sound arrogant, but Matt's voracious appetite for music reminds me so much of my own back in the day. In fact, he inspires me to revisit the things he's into that I know and has exposed me to new stuff. Which honestly is a challenge for this grumpy, old punker. I am very glad to have connected with such an intelligent and creative soul and I am very proud of how our episode turned out, despite some initial audio troubles. A very amazing footnote: since we recorded in October, Matt has gone on to meet Mike Patton at the Avtt/Pttn in-store at Rough Trade and They Might Be Giants! Keep your eye on this one, Zeeborhood. He's going to continue to do great things! If you'd like to learn more about Matthew Bianchini and his work, please check out the links below. I highly recommend the Janet Jackson piece on his Substack.
